Judging Criteria
We review our Judging List in May each year. Anyvody wishing to apply or update their CV, should submit their application by the 14th April to either

A1 Judging ListBreed Specialists and Non-Breed SpecialistsFor persons who have previously been approved by the Kennel Club to award CC’s in the Breed and have completed their first appointment and have the support of the Manchu Shih Tzu Society.A3 Judging ListBreed Specialists1 To have a minimum of 7 years judging experience in the Breed and have the support of the Society
2 To have been on the Society’s B List for a minimum of 5 years
3 To have judged at two Breed club Open Shows or three Breed Club ‘supported entry’ shows
4 To have judged the breed at 20 Open Shows with an adequate geographical spread
5 To have judged a minimum of 45 classes
6 To have judges a minimum of 175 dogs
7 To have attended a seminar by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer and passed the relevant examination on Kennel Club Regulations and Judging Procedures
8 To have attended a seminar given by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer on Conformation and Movement
9 To have attended and passed a Hands-On Assessment delivered by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer
10 To have attended at least two breed specific seminars run in accordance with the relevant Kennel Club Code of Best Practice and passed an examination and/or assessment where applicable
11 To have bred and/or owned a minimum of 3 dogs when they obtained their first entry in the Kennel Club Stud Book (save in exceptional circumstances)A3 Judging ListNon-Breed Specialists1 To have a minimum of 7 years judging experience in any breed (to include 5 years in this breed)
2 To have judged at two Breed Club Shows and/or three Breed Club ‘supported entry’ shows
3 To have judged the breed at 20 Open Shows with an adequate geographical spread
4 To have judged a minimum of 70 classes in this breed
5 To have judged 200 dogs in this breed
6 To have attended a seminar by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer and passed the relevant examination on Kennel Club Regulations and Judging Procedures
7 To have attended a seminar given by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer on Conformation and Movement
8 To have attended and passed a Hands-On Assessment delivered by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer
9 To have attended at least two breed specific seminars run in accordance with the relevant Kennel Club Code of Best Practice and passed an examination and/or assessment where applicable
10 To have awarded CC’s in at least one other breed
11 To have bred and/or owned a minimum of 3 dogs of any breed when they obtained their first entry in the Kennel Club Stud Book (save in exceptional circumstances)B Judging ListBreed Specialists1 To have 5 years experience owning and exhibiting in this breed and have the support of the Society
2 To have judged 20 classes of this breed at Open Shows with a good geographical spread
3 To have judged 45 dogs in this breed
4 To have attended a seminar by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer and passed the relevant examination on Kennel Club Regulations and Judging Procedures
5 To have attended a seminar given by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer on Conformation and Movement
6 To have attended and passed a Hands-On Assessment delivered by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer
7 To have attended at least two breed specific seminars run in accordance with the relevant Kennel Club Code of Best Practice and passed an examination and/or assessment
8 To have stewarded at 12 showsNon-Breed Specialists1 To have a minimum of 5 years judging experience in any one breed and have the support of the society
2 To have judged 30 classes in this breed at Open Shows with an adequate geographical spread (save in exceptional circumstances)
3 To have judged 70 dogs of this breed
4 To have attended a seminar by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer and passed the relevant examination on Kennel Club Regulations and Judging Procedures
5 To have attended a seminar given by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer on Conformation and Movement
6 To have attended and passed a Hands-On Assessment delivered by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer
7 To have attended at least two breed specific seminars run in accordance with the relevant Kennel Club Code of Best Practice and passed an examination and/or assessment
8 To have stewarded at 12 showsC Judging ListBreed Specialists and Non Breed Specialists1 For aspirant Judges who have shown an interest in the breed, attended a breed specific seminar and have the support of the society
